RMSHRM membership dues are $40 annually.
All of our memberships are based on a calendar year, which is January 1-December 31.
Unfortunately we do not offer corporate memberships. Our memberships are aligned with National SHRM’s membership types, so we are only able to offer memberships on an individual basis. If your company is interested in getting involved, please check out our sponsorship page.
Our member types are as follows:
- Professional: HRCI/SHRM certified, or 3+ years of experience as an exempt level HR practitioner, consultant, employment law attorney or HR professor
- General: exempt level HR professional/affiliate, but has not obtained three years at that level
- Associate: non-exempt or vested interest in the HR profession
- Student: member of an affiliate student chapter
- Honorary: past president or HR retiree
Professional members are eligible to vote and hold an elected officer position. General members are eligible to vote and hold an appointed director position. Honorary members have voting privileges only. Associate members do not have voting privileges.
Yes, you do. Because RMSHRM is a 100% affiliate chapter of National SHRM, all chapter members are required to be SHRM members. Your SHRM number will be requested as a required field on the RMSHRM membership application.
SHRM membership ensures we maintain our 100% affiliated chapter status with National SHRM. This designation indicates the chapter’s increased level of commitment and support of the HR profession. Additionally, we receive valuable resource support from SHRM by maintaining this status.
The chapter number for RMSHRM is 0132.
You may pay by credit card or check. If you pay by check, please be sure to print your email acknowledgment and send it along with your payment. In addition, if you use a company check, please make sure your name is listed on the check so that we will know where to apply the payment.
You may attend most of our events and any chapter meeting as a guest prior to joining the chapter. However, guest pricing may vary from member pricing, as our members enjoy discounted and free programming.
Membership applications are reviewed by our Membership Administrator, which is a volunteer leader position. This means that it may take 24-72 hours to review and approve each application. We will always strive to inform you of your membership approval as soon as possible. If you have a time sensitive request, please also follow up by contacting us.

Renewal is now easier than ever! Any time you make a membership transaction (joining or renewing), your account will be updated to auto-renew on 1/1 of the following year. The most recent card used will be charged for the same membership transaction type (membership only or membership + advance payment of meetings). If you wish to change the transaction type or card on file, you may do so by logging into our website, accessing your member profile (link at top right of page) and accessing the invoices > dues section.
New members who have been approved for membership in October, November and December will have their dues applied through December of the following year.
