Collaboration is when two or more people work together for a common goal and the ultimate outcome of the collaboration is a win, win! As HR professionals, we know collaboration is critical to organizational success. Mattie Stepanek, a 14-year-old American poet and motivational speaker, once said,  “Unity is strength…when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” Mattie was right because when we work together, we can accomplish so much more.

In 2021, amidst the global pandemic, a SHRM survey noted that over 70% of HR Professionals were concerned about collaboration in the workplace. This was most likely due to remote/hybrid work needed during the pandemic – a work model that challenged HR professionals to think creatively to help leaders and employees connect with one another using virtual platforms. In a recent SHRM article, “If You’re Going to Change Your Corporate Culture, Do It Right,” we are reminded that collaboration still matters in the new world of work. The top action suggested was “Build a True Collaboration Culture” where “employees actively support and provide significant contributions to each other in their work.”

This interactive workshop facilitated by Andora Hinton, CEO of Willow North Growth Partners, will give you strategies that will improve your collaboration process and integrate the needs and interests of all parties with the outcome of strengthening overall working relationships within your organization – whether it’s your peers, your direct reports, or senior management. In addition, this session will help you understand how to practice courage to express your own needs while also adjusting to, respecting, and understanding the needs of others.
