SHRM Advocacy
Advancing Workplace Policy That Works
At SHRM Raleigh Metro, we believe HR professionals play an important role in shaping the future of work. Through our Government Affairs efforts, we connect members to policy issues that impact employers, employees, and the broader business community.
In alignment with national and state SHRM advocacy priorities, we support a policy-focused approach to workplace issues, helping members stay informed and engaged on legislation affecting the workplace.
Recent Advocacy in Action
On May 13, 2026, SHRM Raleigh Metro members joined HR leaders from across North Carolina for SHRM Advocacy Day in Raleigh. Discussions with state legislators focused on three key priorities:
- Expanding opportunities for untapped talent
- Strengthening the education-to-employment pipeline
- Exploring the impact of artificial intelligence in the workplace
