It provides a broad overview of the field that is helpful in understanding all areas of a business that HR can work in and affect. Whatever your goal may be, certifying will set you apart from others and help you to be more confident in your career.
To pass the certification exam, you need to prepare well and study hard—but you don’t need to do it alone. Join us as we help you prepare for the certification you want to obtain!

Earning your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential makes you a recognized expert and leader in the HR field—and a valuable asset to your organization, keeping you and your organization more competitive in today’s economy. This professional distinction sets you apart from your colleagues, proving your high level of knowledge and skills.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) are based on one single, comprehensive SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge™ (SHRM BoCK™) and are relevant worldwide, giving professionals the recognition and flexibility to use their knowledge, skills and competencies anywhere their career takes them.
SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP are based on in-depth research focused on and backed by global employers and business leaders. They reflect what HR practitioners need to know to be leaders in their organizations and in the profession.
SHRM believes that HR certification must be as inclusive and diverse as the profession itself. The SHRM certification is applicable across industries, geographic borders, job responsibilities and career levels.
By creating a consistent certification path for HR professionals around the world, SHRM will deliver a new global standard. To ensure worldwide recognition of the new certification, SHRM anticipates seeking accreditation of the new certification program from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and/or the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
For additional information and eligibility requirements, visit the SHRM Certification website.
Earning a credential from HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) speaks volumes―about you as an HR professional, about the organization you serve and about the employees who put their trust in you. An HRCI certification distinguishes you as a expert in the HR field, with proven levels of skills and knowledge and the competence necessary to mitigate risks and drive business results.
Whether you are an HR expert or just starting out, HRCI has a suite of proven credentials that are just right for your level of experience.
Earning an HRCI certification provides you with a fully accredited credential – Seven of HRCI’s eight core products are accredited and meet the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) rigorous standards. It validates your expertise by providing you with competency based, professionally relevant credentials that are highly valued in HR and business communities. Further, an HRCI certification connects you to an exclusive network of motivated HR professionals around the globe. Nearly 140,000 certified HR thought leaders work in more than 100 countries and territories. Finally, these designations deliver nearly 40 years of history. Established in 1976, HRCI is the largest HR certification organization in the world.
Recertification demonstrates your continued dedication to stay up to date with the rapidly changing HR profession. To retain your designation, HRCI and SHRM require all certificants to recertify every three years either by accumulating 60 educational hours through continuing education, instruction, on-the-job experience, research and publishing, leadership activities or membership in a national or international professional organization such as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), or by retaking the examination (recertification by examination). RMSHRM offers many programs that are pre-approved for recertification credit or that can be applied towards recertification credit.
